Car chassis wash

Washing the car's undercarriage is almost as important as washing the car's paintwork

In summer, sand, mud, and tar accumulate on the car's undercarriage. Often, when gathered in one place, these substances retain moisture and cause the undercarriage to rust. In winter, road salt shows no mercy to the car's metal parts, causing rust quite quickly. That's why it would be good to wash the car's undercarriage at least twice a year, when changing tires. A car jack is a good help for this job, allowing you better access to clean the areas.

Step 1. | Rinsing off loose dirt

Washing the car's undercarriage should start with a very simple step: rinsing. The goal here is to remove the largest chunks of dirt before applying detergent and starting to brush.

Step 2. | Applying detergent

Start by applying Fure Tar Remover to the surfaces to be cleaned, followed by a nice thick layer of Fure Pre-Wash, either with a foam cannon or a pump spray bottle. Fure Tar Remover is designed to dissolve road salt and other stubborn dirt. The pre-wash, in turn, works excellently to soften general dirt. Then, let the products work for about 5-10 minutes to allow them to penetrate the dirt.

After this, start brushing the surfaces. A relatively coarse wash brush, for example, is suitable for this. It's advisable to have a few different sized brushes for washing so you can scrub even the smallest gaps. Then, carefully brush all surfaces to be cleaned. This enhances the effectiveness of the products, and often the car's undercarriage is full of stubborn dirt, making a simple rinse insufficient.

Step 3. | Rinsing and protection

Once all surfaces to be cleaned have been brushed, the car's undercarriage can be rinsed. It's advisable to use a pressure washer for this to ensure all dirt is removed. If not all dirt comes off the first time, simply apply the detergents again and brush. Sometimes dirt can become quite stubborn. Rinse all nooks and crannies thoroughly to ensure no detergent remains.

Once rinsing is complete and the surfaces are clean and dry, it's a good idea to spray them with, for example, Fure Quick Wax, which restores the original shade of black plastic parts and at the same time protects the surfaces from new dirt.
