Thorough car wash

Has your car gotten so dirty that you don't even know where to start washing it? In this guide, we'll go through the steps of car washing from start to finish, after which you'll know how to make your car shine!

Step 1. Pre-washing the car

Our goal is to remove as much dirt as possible from the car's surface before touching it with a wash mitt, to prevent scratching the paintwork.

If you have a pressure washer and a foam cannon attachment, you're sure to get a good result. Apply Fure Power Wash to the car's surface with the foam cannon, let it sit, and rinse it off. If there are insects on the car's front, it's a good idea to spray Fure Insect Remover before applying the Power Wash.

If you don't have a pressure washer and foam cannon, you can apply diluted Fure Power Wash to the car's surface using a spray bottle with a 1:5 – 1:10 mixture. Let it sit, then rinse off the dirt and detergent with as much pressure as your spray gun can provide. You can also use Fure Tar Remover as a pre-wash product.

Step 2. Wheel cleaning

Next, we continue the thorough cleaning of the car with the wheels. For this, you will need Fure Iron Remover and a wheel brush. Various types of brushes are sold in stores for cleaning wheels, but if you don't have one, a soft dish brush or even a paintbrush will do.

Wheel cleaning begins by spraying iron remover onto the wheel, letting it act for about 3-5 minutes, then scrubbing the wheel with a wheel brush, and finally rinsing off the dirt thoroughly.

Step 3. Car paintwork washing

Now that the pre-wash has been completed and much of the dirt has been removed, it's time to wash the car's surfaces with car shampoo and a wash mitt. So, pour 10 liters of water into a bucket, add about 5-10ml of car shampoo, and then spray into the bucket with high pressure using either a pressure washer or a spray gun to mix the water and car shampoo well and create a thick foam. After this, dip the wash mitt into the wash water and start cleaning the car's surfaces with it. Begin washing from the car's roof and work your way down, rinsing the wash mitt in the bucket frequently, for example, after each panel (roof, door, bumper). This keeps the wash mitt and wash water as clean as possible, as the dirtiest parts of the car are precisely the bottom edges of the doors and the rear bumper. Also, avoid circular motions with the wash mitt. Once the entire car has been cleaned, rinse off the dirt and detergent residues thoroughly.

Step 4. Iron removal from car paintwork

Over time, iron particles adhere to the car's paintwork, appearing as small orange spots on the surface and making the paint feel rough. These come from sources such as car brakes, studded tires, and road surfaces. This is pure iron that sticks to the paint and forms a rusty surface.

These are easy to get rid of: simply spray Fure Iron Remover where these orange spots are. Let the product act for about 5 minutes. Soon you'll notice how the iron remover turns reddish in the areas where iron particles are present. Then, just rinse thoroughly with a pressure washer. If you don't have a pressure washer, you can lightly wipe the surfaces with a wash mitt and then rinse.

Step 5. Tar removal from car paintwork

After iron removal, black, rubbery spots may remain on the surface. These are tar and rubber from car tires and road surfaces. These can be easily removed with Fure Tar Remover. Spray the tar remover where these black spots are, and let it sit for about 5 minutes. If necessary, you can spray a couple of spritzes of tar remover onto a microfiber cloth and wipe the surfaces clean. This helps to loosen stubborn tar stains. Then, just give it a good rinse.

Tar remover leaves a slightly oily film on the paintwork, so it's a good idea to wash the car again following the instructions in Step 3, or spray Fure Power Wash or Fure Pre-Wash onto the car's surface and rinse. This is the easiest way to remove the oily residue.

Step 6. Paintwork protection

The final step is to protect the car's paintwork with Fure Quick Wax. This is the easiest and most rewarding step: while the car is still wet, spray 1-2 sprays of quick wax per panel, then simply rinse the car lightly. Now the car's paintwork is protected for a couple of months, and dirt won't stick to it as easily. Quick wax also adds a nice shine. Remember to dry the car afterward. Finnish water often contains a lot of lime, and if you let the water dry on the car's paintwork, this lime will appear as white rings on the surface.

After this, your car is ready for summer!
